The TPM approach makes it possible to optimize the compound yield of the facilities through the progressive elimination of reasons for production loss, particularly those caused by breakdowns and micro-stops.
Applying the TPM approach involves the participation of all individuals, clearly defining complementary roles for maintenance and production concerning production facilities.
Two forms of maintenance are examined in this seminar:
- corrective maintenance
- preventive maintenance
From a very practical view concerning actual onsite operations, the implementation of the TPM will make it possible to:
- increase the reliability and availability of the facilities
- increase the accountability of the production teams for the continuing improvement of their work tools
- reduce maintenance costs
- create a better procedure for developing and purchasing new mechanical devices
